Utah State Volleyball Ready To Start 2006 Season

Utah State University’s women’s volleyball team and first-year head coach Grayson DuBose will start the 2006 season on Wed., Aug. 9 with its first practice of the year at 9 a.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

“We are excited about getting back in the gym and starting practice,” said DuBose, “and we are looking forward to competing in the WAC and representing Utah State University. We will be putting some new systems in place and that will take some time for the kids to get used to, but it should pay dividends as the season progresses.”

DuBose welcomes back three starters and five lettermen from last year’s team that went 21-13 overall, including a second-place finish in the Western Athletic Conference with an 11-5 league record, and the school’s third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last seven years.

Utah State will officially begin the 2006 season on Fri., Aug. 25 when it plays at New Mexico in a tournament hosted by the Lobos. USU will also play Stephen F. Austin and UC Riverside that weekend.
