Utah State Volleyball Signs In-State Standout

Utah State’s women’s volleyball coach Grayson DuBose announced Thursday the signing of Christine Morrill to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Aggies beginning in the 2007 season.

Morrill, a 5-7 libero from Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah, earned first-team all-state honors as a prep senior and second-team all-state honors during her junior season as an outside hitter. She also plays for the High Country Volleyball Club that has qualified for the Junior Olympic National Championships this summer, and has been a member of the High Performance team the past two years.

“Christine is a wonderful defensive player and has continued to improve her ball control this past season,” said DuBose. “She played as an outside hitter in high school, but has been trained as a libero and that is the position she will play for us. Christine is an excellent addition to our roster and we are happy she is an Aggie.”

Morrill becomes the sixth player to sign with Utah State this year along with Katie Astle (Sandy, Utah), Chelsea Fowles (Hollister, Calif.), Kris Hymas (West Jordan, Utah), Jessalyn Payne (Greeley, Colo.) and Lori Wilson (Provo, Utah).
