The Utah Statesman brings home 12 statewide journalism awards
The Utah Statesman brought home 12 awards at the annual Utah chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists Headliners award banquet on Wednesday, June 19.
Held in the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City, the awards ceremony honored newspapers from around the state. The Society of Professional Journalists divides newspapers in the state between two categories: divisions A and B. The Utah Statesman competed in division B, which consisted of applicants from colleges and professional weekly newspapers in the state of Utah.
Along with the 12 awards, including 4 awards for first place, the Utah Statesman also received several honorable mentions.
