Week two of USUSA elections results announced

Results for the second week of the 2022 Utah State University Student Association elections were announced Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Students voted for the officers for the Eastern Service Region Council, Academic Senate, Statewide Campuses Executive Council and Logan Campus Executive Council during the second round of elections.

The Logan Campus Executive Council includes the Logan Campus vice president, the Logan Campus Athletics & Campus Recreation executive director, the Logan Campus Diversity & Organizations executive director, and the Logan Campus Student Events executive director.

The Logan Campus vice president-elect is Erik Fogth, with 100% of the votes.

The Logan Campus Athletics & Campus Recreation executive director-elect is Ryder Sasser, with 62.17% of the votes.

Sasser said that margin of votes would not have been possible without his team.

“I’m excited to implement the things my team and I have talked about,” Sasser said. “It was fun sitting in these rooms and sitting in these meetings with my campaign team and being like, ‘OK, if we win, what do we want to do?’ And I would always be like, ‘Guys, first we gotta win, right?’ And so it’s fun now that we’re here, and we can start to look at the future and see what we can do to implement those ideas.”

The Logan Campus Diversity & Organizations executive director-elect is Noah Evaga, with 59.33% of the votes

The Logan Campus Student Events executive director-elect is Dakota Oldham, with 55.65% of the votes.

Oldham said she is grateful for her opponent, Dee Shumway, and is excited to continue working with him in the future.

“I’m excited to be able to meet so many people and to help other people get involved with Student Events and everything, but have everybody feel welcomed at Utah State, but also with the events,” Oldham said. “I’m so excited.”

The Academic Senate is made up of the senators for each of the nine colleges at USU.

There will be a runoff election for the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business senator. The two candidates moving on to the runoff election are Sadie Jensen and AnnaLynn Palmer. Jensen received 39.62% of the votes, and Palmer received 31.63% of the votes.

Voting for the runoff election will open on Thursday at 9 a.m. and will close at 11:59 p.m.

Scott Nelson is the Caine College of the Arts senator-elect, with 55.5% of the votes.

Cade Cox is the College of Agriculture & Applied Sciences senator-elect, with 100% of the votes.

Britney Dikwa-Nkrumah is the College of Engineering senator-elect, with 52.4% of the votes.

Carter Ottley is the College of Humanities & Social Sciences senator-elect, with 59.95% of the votes.

Gabriella Cale is the College of Science senator-elect, with 59.13% of the votes.

Adrianna Mortensen is the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education & Human Services senator-elect, with 51.17% of the votes.

Sarah N Pope is the school of Graduate Studies senator-elect, with 100% of the votes.

Abigail MacKay is the S.J. & Jessie E. Quinney College of Natural Resources senator-elect, with 100% of the votes.

The Statewide Campuses Executive Council is made up of vice presidents from each of USU’s service regions.

Hunter Warren is the Blanding Service Region vice president-elect, with 66.67% of the votes.

Jasmine Sorensen is the Brigham City Service Region vice president-elect, with 100% of the votes.

Sofie Crompton is the Eastern Service Region vice president-elect, with 60.96% of the votes.

Jamie Reidhead is the Moab Service Region vice president-elect, with 100% of the votes.

Sherri Callister is the Southwest Service Region vice president-elect, with 100% of the votes.

Julie Andrews is the Tooele Service Region vice president-elect, with 68% of the votes.

Lindsay Cook is the Uintah Basin Service Region vice president-elect, with 100% of the votes.

Natoya Chung is the Wasatch Service Region vice president-elect, with 100% of the votes.

The Eastern Service Region also has an Eastern Service Region Council, which includes the Eastern Service Region director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, the Eastern Service Region director of Student Events, and the Eastern Service Region student advocate.

Myra Beecher is the Eastern Service Region director-elect of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, with 80.98% of the votes.

Tiara Otteson is the Eastern Service Region director-elect of Student Events, with 100% of the votes.

Brooklyn Ward is the Eastern Service Region student advocate-elect, with 100% of the votes.
