It was learned by The Utah Statesman Thursday that Aggie shooting guard Kevin Williams has left the basketball team.

The sophomore out of Houston, Texas played in 15 games last season as a walk-on, scoring a career-high 12 points, along with four rebounds, four steals and three assists in 18 minutes of play against Western State

“I made my decision after talking with coach [Morrill] last week, and I just decided it would be best if I went somewhere else where my wife and I could have more financial stability,” Williams said in an e-mail to The Utah Statesman.

Williams said his choice to leave the team had nothing to do with the coaching staff or the players. It came down to what he said he felt was best fo himself.

He said he will continue to cheer on the Aggies, and wishes them the best of luck.
