Women’s soccer splits weekend games

The Utah State University women’s soccer team proved once again there is no place like home on Friday when they shut out the Pacific Tigers 1-0.

After a disappointing weekend away, the Aggies were more than ready to come out and prove they could still own Tower Field.

“After we lose like that, we know we’re not going to do it again. We know we’re a good team, we just have to come out and do it.” sophomore Amber Tracy said.

The lone goal of the game was knocked in by Tracy, and assisted by Brigid Turner – keeping Tracy on top for the most goals scored (7) by the Aggies this season.

Another key component to Friday’s game was senior defender Kennon Roeber who played a physical game.

Both teams racked up 11 fouls during the game.

Pacific gave the Aggies a pretty even contest, notching five corner kicks and six goalie saves while USU had four corner kicks and six goalie saves also.

Those six saves have put USU goalie Tracy Brady in the record books for the most shutouts in a season.

“Tracy Brady was there every time, we have to give this game to the ‘D’,” Croft said.

The Aggies faced California State, Northridge Sunday at Tower Field.

CSN came out on top with the 2-0 victory in Big West play.

“I’m disappointed we can’t seem to put together 90 minutes of soccer,” Croft said.
