LETTER: A fact-based response

To the editor:

In response to Glen Moore’s fact based opinion, “Conservatives Not Heartless,” here are a few quotes from the same Statesman. “In a newspaper interview published Tuesday, Del. Frank D. Hargrove (R. Virginia) said slavery ended nearly 140 years ago with the Civil War and added that ‘our black citizens should get over it.” Also, for Texas Governor Rick Perry’s second term celebration, the Republican Governors good friend, Ted Nugent, made a scheduled appearance complete with machine guns, confederate flag T-shirt, and yelled offensive remarks about non-English speakers.
