LETTER: Libertarian ideas misrepresented
To the editor:
Is there honestly a more useless column in the paper than Liberalism 1010?
This weeks episode, or ‘class’, had the purpose of educating us on Libertarianism. Not only was it useless, but it was flat wrong in many cases. Let me bring class in session for you. Libertarians are simply people who are sick of the government controlling, or trying to control, so many aspects of the lives of Americans. You know why they’re sick of it? Because we’ve had these people called Republicans and Democrats that know how to do nothing more than argue with each other. Republicans sit on their pompous throne’s casting judgment upon the world, whereas Democrats are so busy trying to make sure that everyone is happy that no one is left to run the Government. So spare us the ‘lecture’ on what who these people are and what they’re good for.
And by the way, I’m fairly positive everyone who reads the statesman is aware you are gay, so you can stop with the constant references. We get it. We got the memo. And guess what? No one cares. So unless you’re trying to show how annoying gay people can be, you can stop any time.
Class dismissed.
