Utah Statesman: Why did you choose Utah State University?

Jordan McQueen: I like Logan, especially for the rock climbing.

US: What is your favorite thing about the university?

McQueen: Climbing again. I go up in Logan Canyon with friends.

US: What is your least favorite thing about USU?

McQueen: The Hub. I don’t like the Hub, the scene of it all. I mostly don’t like the people there I guess.

US: If you had five hours of free time right now and money was not an issue, what would you do?

McQueen: I’d go heli-skiing. You know, helicopter skiing, where it takes you up. But definitely not at Beaver.

US: What five words best describe you?

McQueen: Happy, shy, outgoing, not very good with words … , adventurous.

US: What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?

McQueen: Going on a mission to Peru, I guess. It was a risk because I had never thought about going on one until the moment before I decided – but then I was glad I did.

US: What is your philosophy of life?

McQueen: Just be happy, don’t worry about the small things in life.

US: Who is the most famous person you’ve ever met?

McQueen: Harrison Ford. I met him in the middle fork of the Salmon River when we were kayaking. He was in this little place where you could only fly in on a Cesna plane.

US: If you could go on tour with any band, who would it be and why?

McQueen: Can they be dead? I’d say the Grateful Dead, just for the whole experience on tour with them and everything.

US: What would your ideal date be?

McQueen: I don’t date much, more just hanging out, but I’d want to go skiing all day … if she couldn’t ski then I wouldn’t be on a date with her. Then we’d come home and chill by the fire.

US: What was the last movie you rented or saw in the theater?

McQueen: “The Grudge,” it was OK, pretty scary I guess. US: If you were going to write a personal ad, what would it say?

McQueen: I wouldn’t be writing one in the first place, so it wouldn’t say anything.

US: What is your favorite college class you’ve taken?

McQueen: My EMT class. It is offered through USU, but they teach it at Bridgerland. I’m getting certified right now and it is a pretty fun class.-lindsaykite@cc.usu.edu
