Book published on writing center theory

Joyce Kinkead, vice provost for Undergraduate Studies and Research, teamed up with Michael Pemberton, an associate professor of writing and linguistics at Georgia Southern University, to compile a major volume of essays on the signal issues of scholarship that have established the writing center field and that the field must successfully address in the coming decade.

“‘The Center Will Hold: Critical Perspectives on Writing Center Scholarship’ uses the past as a springboard to make a major contribution to writing center scholarship,” said Michael Spooner, director of Utah State University Press, which published the collection. “But it looks to the future.

“It belongs on the bookshelf of every writing center and will be used with graduate students and in tutor-training seminars for years to come,” Spooner said.
