Student says he likes Al Pacino movies, Persian food and Pursuit of Happyness
Utah Statesman: Why did you choose to come to Utah State?
Ghaemi: I chose Utah State because I had family friends here and I’ve had good experiences with people from Utah. It’s a very safe environment and it’s a really good place to go to school because if I was to go to school in someplace like L.A., I would probably be partying all the time.
US: What do you like to do in your free time?
Ghaemi: I like to watch movies and be with friends.
US: What is your favorite movie?
Ghaemi: It’s a really tough question. I’ll get back to you.
US: If you could meet any movie star, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Ghaemi: Probably Al Pacino. I like Italian actors. I like his movies and he’s a very good actor.
US: What would you say is your favorite food?
Ghaemi: I like all kinds of international food, nothing specific. I like Persian food, Mexican food.
US: Have you ever been on a blind date?
Ghaemi: No. I just totally have to see the person first.
US: Do you have any embarrassing moments?
Ghaemi: Well, I had my fly open the other day. That’s the only thing I can thing of.
US: Was it all day?
Ghaemi: No, it wasn’t that bad.
US: If you could have any super power what would it be?
Ghaemi: It would be going back in time.
US: When would go back to?
Ghaemi: Probably Vancouver, where I grew up. I’d like to go back to my childhood experiences. That would be fun.
US: If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
Ghaemi: Anywhere in the world? I would go to Trinidad. I’m actually going there May 5. We’re going to stay in a hotel for free and everything.
US: What do you constantly worry about?
Ghaemi: My G.P.A.
US: How have you changed since you were younger.
Ghaemi: I’ve gotten more responsible.
US: Is there a cartoon character that you relate most to?
Ghaemi: I wouldn’t relate to any of them. I mean I like the Family Guy and all that but, I wouldn’t relate to them.
US: If you could be famous for one thing what would it be?
Ghaemi: Being a part in curing HIV.
US: If you had any advice for other students, what would it be?
Ghaemi: Study hard and open up conversations with all people. Not just your own little social groups. One of the most important things that I see in the cafeteria is a lot of times you see segregations and I wish people would get together more.
US: Is there anything else you would want to say about yourself?
Ghaemi: I’m very cool and I’m a very nice guy.
US: And your favorite movie?
Ghaemi: I like inspirational movies. I really liked that current one with Will Smith. “Pursuit of Happyness.” That is one of my favorite movies. And I like “Catch Me if You Can.” And I like TV shows like “Seinfield.” -mnewbold@cc.usu.edu
