With incredible courage, Steve hopped into his car and headed to Nauvoo where Chelsea was on a church history tour.

In the shadow of the Nauvoo Temple, Chelsea said “yes” and began the count-down to Aug. 23, 2006, when they will be married in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Chelsea Denise Carlson is the daughter of Dr. Montel and Denise Carlson of Cove, Utah. She is attending Utah State University after graduating in 2004 from Sky View High School and LDS Seminary.

Steven Wade Mamanakis, the son of Woody Mamanakis and Kristine Bjorklund, graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 2001. After returning from the Pusan Korean Mission, Steve enrolled at Utah State majoring in biology. Steve desires to enter the program to teach LDS seminary.

After their honeymoon on Kuaui, Steve and Chels will begin their life together as very happy, very poor students, living just below Old Main Hill.

They are registered at WalMart.

Showers were given by Donna, Rachael and Krista Carlson; Jena Fredrickson, Claudia Rasmussen and Marcia Daybell.

Chelsea and Steve chose not to have a formal reception on their wedding day. There will be a casual open house September 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 at 1268 Frankland St., South Ogden. Friends and relatives are invited.

Steve and Chelsea wish to send their love and appreciation to all their family and friends.
