Blotter: Police news from the campus and community
Oct. 25
* While on foot patrol, police observed six individuals with skateboards at the Tanner Fountain. Two were jumping the boards off the stairs. One of the individuals had been warned on two previous occasions and had his board impounded.
* Utah State University Campus Police responded to a report of two male individuals drinking alcohol in front of the Taggart Student Center. Police spoke with the two and determined they were of age. Their alcohol was confiscated and they were released with a warning.
Oct. 26
* Campus police responded to 750 E. 900 North to assist Logan City Police with a fight in progress. A number of individuals were detained and two individuals were cited for fighting.
* Campus police received a report of a theft of cash from a room in Mountain View Tower. Police are investigating.
* Campus police responded to a report of a stray dog. The dog was impounded.
Oct. 27
* Campus police responded to the University Inn on a report of stray kittens in the area.
* Campus police received a report of a student being bothered by other students. For now, the student only wants the matter documented with the police.
Oct. 28
* Campus police received a report of a stolen jacket from Moen Hall. The jacket was black in color, Nike brand and Nike was written on the jacket in white letters. Inside the jacket was a wallet and keys. Police are investigating the incident.
Oct. 29
* Police received a report of a wallet stolen from the Chase Fine Arts Center. The wallet was taken out of a book bag when it was left hanging in a women’s restroom. The investigation is continuing.
* Campus police responded to Mountain View Tower on a report of individuals stuck in an elevator. The individuals were removed and the elevator was placed out of service.
Oct. 30
* Campus police responded to 800 East 700 North on a report of a group of people throwing snowballs at passing vehicles. Police responded but were unable to locate any suspects.
* Campus police responded to The Junction on a report of a fire in the bakery and people were starting to exit the building. When police and the Logan Fire Department arrived, it was discovered a motor on an oven had burned, causing sparks and smoke. The fire had extinguished itself.
* Campus police responded to Richards Hall on a report of a group of men throwing snowballs at passing students and one individual had been struck and injured. Police spoke with the victim and she did not want to press charges. Police warned the offender he could be charged.
