Valley veterans to share stories

“Voices of Cache Valley Veterans,” a free program in celebration of Veteran’s Day, will feature poignant and patriotic real-life stories by decorated veterans on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Lgoan Tabernacle at 50 N. Main Street.

The program is part of the Friends of Utah State University Libraries and the Concert and Lecture Series at the Logan LDS Tabernacle. It is part of USU’s Special Collections and Archives, Veterans History Project with support from the Utah Humanities Council and The Herald Journal For more information, call 797-2869.

Indian landscape speech to be held

The British and Commonwealth Studies and Consortium for Indian Culture programs present “The Garden and the Jungle: The Aesthetics of Landscape in Narratives of British India,” Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Eccles Conference Center Room 203. Dr. Alan Johnson of Idaho State University will explore the influence of British descriptions of the Indian landscape on other writers at the event.

Undergrad art exhibit to be held

The Utah State University Art Department is pleased to announce the Annual Undergraduate Student Exhibition. The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 14 in the Twain Tippetts Exhibition Hall at the Chase Fine Arts Center. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment. There will be a closing reception on Nov. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. where awards will be announced. Brian Snapp, a professor of art at the University of Utah will jury the art.

The exhibit will include works from the painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, graphic and ceramic emphasis. Some of the work will be for sale.

Library seeks info on missing poster

Merrill Library officials are offering a reward for information leading to the return a poster stolen from the building in September. The 18 inch by 16 inch framed poster with the words “Johnny Reeferseed” on it was stolen from the Art Book Room in the Merrill Library. A $50 reward is available for information. Anyone with information about the poster is encouraged to contact University Police at 797-1939.
