Utah Statesman: Why did you choose to come to Utah State University?
Andy Patterson: I was offered a scholarship and I lived in town – it was convenient.
US: Why are you majoring in biology?
Patterson: I’m hoping to go into medicine. I’m researching to see if I want to go into the field. I like internal medicine and pediatrics.
US: What are your plans after college?
Patterson: Medical school. Then I’ll see where it goes from there.
US: What is your favorite thing about USU?
Patterson: Aggie ice cream.
US: What is your least favorite thing about USU?
Patterson: The registration office and the whole registration process.
US: What is your philosophy on life?
Patterson: Make the most of it.
US: What five words best describe you?
Patterson: Tall, dark, handsome and not available.
US: If you were to write a personal ad, what would it say?
Patterson: It’s a little late for that. Refer to the last question.
US: What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
Patterson: Trying to answer the personal ad question without asking my wife first.
US: If you won an all-expense paid trip for two weeks, where would you go and why?
Patterson: Guatemala, because that’s where I served an LDS mission, and that’s where they are filming “Survivor.”
US: Who is your hero?
Patterson: My heroine is my wife, Candice.
US: What do you like to do on the weekends?
Patterson: Exercise. I like to play football with my brothers.
US: What’s your favorite hobby?
Patterson: I like to fly fish.
US: What is your pet peeve?
Patterson: Loud hiccups.
US: What is your favorite movie?
Patterson: “George of the Jungle,” the Disney one with Brendan Fraser. Or “Rocket Man.”
US: What were the last three books you chose to read?
Patterson: “The Scarlet Letter” – I’d never read it before, so I actually chose to read it. Then “A History of Mexico” and “Russell M. Nelson: Father, Surgeon and Apostle.”
US: What was the last movie you rented or saw in theater?
Patterson: “Pure Luck.”
US: If you could say one thing to the president of the United States right now, what would it be?
Patterson: Lots of stuff, but I don’t know if I want it in the newspaper. At least it isn’t Kerry.-hollyadams@cc.usu.edu
