LETTER: Headline gives a good laugh

Editor,

I always get a laugh from The Statesman, but this time it came from a surprising place. No, it wasn’t the comics or the Police Blotter. It was from a rather serious article from the Associated Press about driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The reason it was funny was because of the title. Instead of saying, “Senate approves drinking limit for parents driving with children” or something to that effect it was shortened to “Senate approves drinking limit with children.”

I definitely agree. No more kids getting drunk before recess is over. No more kids wanting a nightcap before bedtime. Alcohol should be limited in the school cafeteria. It’s about time the senate has done something about that (way) underage drinking problem. Just the other day I was nearly clipped in the leg by a toddler on a tricycle, and the way he was swerving was a little suspect. Anyway, not to distract from the seriousness of the article, but thanks for the laugh.
