LETTER: Hey editors

Editor,

I try not to be too picky. I don’t insist on having a perfect student newspaper. I can forgive the fact that sometimes an article is listed as being on Page 11 and then printed on Page 5. I don’t mind the fact that cartoons are regularly reprinted in successive issues of The Statesman. In the same issue where someone sent a letter to the editor about environmentalist groups wasting paper by writing articles in The Statesman I did find it rather sad that The Statesman included “Slightly Off Center” from last week and Forum from last week.

I have no problem with either of these columns, but there is no reason to print them twice. That’s a real waste of paper. If Dennis didn’t write a column this week, then don’t print it. If he did, why didn’t you print it? The same comment applies to the Forum. Small problems I try to overlook, but this wasn’t exactly small — it was half a page. Fix this and I’m sure the environmentalists, Graham Theobald and I would all be happier.

Editor’s note:

Just in case anyone missed the notice in Wednesday’s paper, the presses at Bear River Publishing, where The Statesman is printed, broke down late Sunday night. Columns that we rerun had been printed incompletely, and therefore, were printed again.
