LETTER: ‘Propaganda’ was used correctly in letter

Editor,

I’d like to respond to Erik Falor’s letter criticizing Dr. Moeller for using the word propaganda.

According to Webster, propaganda is defined as “ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to futher one’s cause or to damage an opposite cause.”

In other words, not only does propaganda not have a negative connotation, but it applies perfectly to what the College of Republicans was trying to do. They were trying to further their own cause and damage the cause of Affirmative Action. Whether you agree with the cause or not, it’s still propaganda in every sense of the word. Don’t be afraid of labels, Mr. Falor, because sometimes a duck is a duck, no matter how offensive you find that term.
